Former President Donald Trump is fundraising off the announcement of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s resignation, calling the Democratic governor “a total loser.”

On Tuesday, Aug. 10, Cuomo announced that he would step down from the job in two weeks after the New York State Attorney General’s Office found he harassed 11 women in his entourage, though he denied the allegation.

In the fundraising email issued through his Save America PAC on Friday, Aug. 13, Trump did not mention Cuomo’s sexual harassment allegation but touched on the governor’s performance addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Andrew Cuomo has got real problems—he handled COVID horribly and he’s DESTROYED New York—and it’s about time he resigned,” Trump wrote in the email.

“To tell you the truth, this guy is a TOTAL LOSER, and New York, as well as the entire Country, is better off without him,” he added.

The former president told readers there is a “1-HOUR 250%-MATCH” on donations to the Save America Joint Fundraising Committee, New York Post reported.

Trump has not publicly weighed in on Cuomo’s resignation before.

The New York governor is under investigation by at least four state district attorneys for sexual misconduct and under federal investigation for an admitted cover-up of data on COVID-19 or CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus deaths at New York nursing homes.

President Joe Biden said earlier this week that he respected Cuomo’s decision but touted the governor’s job performance, saying that he did “a hell of a job.” In April, Biden called Cuomo “the gold standard” for governors for his response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

During his presidency, Trump used to spar with Cuomo over his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to The Hill, Trump used Friday’s fundraising appeal to call for donations to help fight against “political opportunists and TRUMP HATERS.”

“America is actually better off without a lot of Liberal Wokesters like Cuomo. We got rid of one, and now the real work begins,” he said.
